The 48 High Points

As far as we can make out, there is no definitive list of European country high points. While many of the websites and books on the subject appear to agree most of the time, there are still a few disputed high points and questionable entries. Therefore, without adding to the confusion, we have settled on the list produced by Carl McKeating and Rachel Crolla from their book ‘Europe’s High Points’. They seem to have done their homework and come up with, what we think, is the most accurate list. Having said that, we will also be visiting Turkey’s Mount Ararat, the Azores and the Faeroe Islands just to make sure we have covered all eventualities.
